The London-based furniture and product designers of W.C.Franck met whilst studying at London Metropolitan University. Amos Field Reid, Markus Kayser, Jess Corteen, and Steve Clutton were studying for a BA in Furniture and Product Design while Rentaro Nishimura was on the MA Product Design course. In 2008 a commission to create replacement seats for six old bentwood chairs saw them form a group alongside their lecturer, the designer William Warren. This first collaborative venture resulted in the Thonet Project exhibitions shown in London and Paris.

Whilst each member pursues their own independent design activities they also embark on group collaborations at intervals under the banner of W.C.Franck. These collaborations – with the sharing of resources, knowledge, peer support and constructive criticism implied – provide the group with a stimulating working platform and presents rich opportunities for more ambitious projects.

W.C.Franck members are available for commissions, either individually or as a group.
